Organizations that plan to raise resources start with having well prepared concepts. It is a good culture not only for top management or fundraising officer but for every staff to know and be involved in resource mobilization efforts.  A training session on this may benefit all staff.  

The main way for organizations to raise resources is to master the art of proposal writing. "Its not enough to have a good proposal, you have to know how and when to propose"

To many agencies, resource mobilization is a more-talked-and-less implemented activity often happening by accident. With this session, you realize that even with 1 shared office, a permanent staff and a couple of volunteers, resource mobilization can effectively be designated and conducted.    

If any agency learnt anything from the Global financial crisis, its the need for self drive and more independence from external resources. Office space to rent, transport for staff, a revolving staff fund, a mechanical plant may sustain your valuable staff when "that usually shocking e-mail from the donor" finally comes.
